In some ways I am my own worst enemy when it comes to
crafting. I am so interested by every type of crafting that’s out there and I
always want to give it a go. The problem is that I live off my student loan,
and I have a small one bedroom flat that I share with my husband which is
already packed to the rafters. Not much room or money for crafting equipment. A
lot of the time I become so over whelmed with everything that I want to try
that I end up doing nothing. I have decided to stick to the projects I’ve already
begun for now, especially because my hubby has put me on a ban from buying
crafting things until at least the end of the month. I thought that it might
help me to make a list of all of the things that I want to do, that way I don’t
feel as pressured to begin everything right away. The list ended up being a lot
longer than I expected though. I think I have enough ideas to keep me going for
the rest of my life! I’ve shared it with you below so that you can get some
ideas for yourself and know what kind of posts and videos to expect to see
here. What crafts would you like to start or learn?
Smash books:
- Complete first book (Pink) about myself and my life by the end of the year.
- Begin a second book about make-up and fashion. I want this to be a place where I can stick magazine cut outs for ideas and inspiration, as well as place to stick photos of looks I create and my OOTD. I guess it would be like a look book for myself.
- Win one of the weekly challenges on the Smash*ing UK group.
Junk Journals:
- Make one full of inspirational quotes for my husband.
Analogue
photography:
- Do more. Take up more photos and use up the films I have had in my cameras for months.
- Develop my own photographs. I know how to do this but I don’t have the equipment. I have a lofty ambition of buying all that’s needed to develop black and white photos in my (tiny) bathroom and get a negative scanner to be able to turn them into digital files. One day, one day...
Knitting:
- Finish the two scarves I have already begun.
- Finish that dreaded cardigan...
- Make more squares for the blanket I’ve begun.
- Learn how to make socks, gloves, etc. Basically learn how to add and decrease the amount of stitches so I can make more than squares and scarves.
Sewing:
- Learn how to use my sewing machine.
- Make my own clothes.
Misellaneous/Un-Categorised:
- Make an inspiration book for myself that I can look at on days I am struggling with my health to cheer me up.
- Learn how to make charms by Christmas and create personalised bracelets as gifts.
- Get a Wreck This Journal and....wreck it.
- Fill my Rolodex with art, lists, photos, etc.
- Learn how to crochet.
- Begin Project Life!
Have a great weekend.
